Pretty Lady & Peonies -
The translation of the writing is “Red silk long shirt on pretty lady
reflects her very white (fine) skin.” So when a pretty lady wears a pretty
dress she becomes more pretty. The peonies were the
national flower of both the Tang and Qing Dynasties. The peony has a
nickname of “Rich Flower” this is because of the rich colors in the
blossoms.
The City of Lwo Yang (Which was the Tang Dynasty’s
capitol, near the Yellow River) is where the Peony was first developed.
They still celebrate this every year. In fact there is currently a push by
some to again make this the National Flower.
