Two Pretty Ladies - Two
pretty Chinese ladies in conversation in a garden corner. They are dressed in Han Dynasty period dresses. The drawing of people is the most difficult in Chinese traditional art because they must maintain great detail. Notice the patterns on the dresses and the hair of the women. A translation of the writing is "Jade Rail Red Leaf Maple" with the artists "chop" signature. Jade in this case is meant to include the carved stone railing of the patio and steps. |
